Phantom - Josh Palmer
Josh has been performing with the Townsville theatrical fraternity for fifteen years, appearing in ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Les Miserables’, ‘Chess’ and most recently playing the role of chief architect Thomas Andrews in NQOMT’s 2016 presentation of Titanic: The Musical. Josh was a member of the Townsville cast in their production of ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ in 2014, where he portrayed the role of theatre proprietor Gilles Andre. This is his first production with the Burdekin Singers and he wishes to extend his sincere gratitude to Pat and the entire production team for this rare opportunity to play the dream role of the Phantom. Many thanks also goes to his fellow cast members for their unwavering friendliness and support. Josh wishes to dedicate his performance to his beautiful wife Meredith in recognition to her dedication, sacrifice and support during the preceding months. He hopes you enjoy the show!
Christine Daae - Sohpie Ricca
Sophie was born and bred in the Burdekin and has been performing with Burdekin Singers since the age of eight. After moving to Townsville in 2012, Sophie performed as Johanna in 'Sweeney Todd', Minnie in 'Hello Dolly', Margot in 'Legally Blonde', and Christine in NQOMT's 2014 production of 'Phantom of the Opera'.
After studying classical music throughout school, Sophie has now followed her passion all the way to Brisbane to study classical voice at a tertiary level. She is currently studying her third year of her Bachelor of Music majoring in Classical Voice at the Queensland Conservatorium or Music, Griffith University. Under the esteemed tutelage of Professor Lisa Gasteen AO, Sophie has performed in Mozart's 'The Magic Flute'. She has also performed as Emmie in Britten's 'Albert Herring', directed by Australian director Bruce Beresford.
To revisit the role of Christine in her home town has been a fantastic opportunity. Working with Pat and the Burdekin Singers team on Phantom will be a memory that she will cherish always.
Vicomte Raoul de Chagny - Ashley Wood
Even though he was born in Ingham, Ashley has lived most of his life in the Burdekin and has been participating with the Burdekin Singers since 2013. He first performed in the orchestra for Cats before joining the cast on stage in 2014 for the production of Jesus Christ Superstar. He is now being presented with his first lead role in this year's 'The Phantom of the Opera'.
With musical blood flowing through his veins, Ashley has played a range of musical instruments almost his entire life. However, he mainly played piano and was even taught by our very own musical director - Monica Licciardello. Whilst never having any formal vocal training, Ashley has thoroughly enjoyed his time with Burdekin Singers and is hoping to continue participating with everything they have to offer. His role in Phantom has proved to be a substantial learning curve and continues to be his favourite part of his theatrical experience to date. He hopes that everyone enjoys the show as much as he has.

Signora Carlotta Guidicelli - Jessica Meisenhelter
Originally born and bred in Cairns, Jessica has been a member of Burdekin Singers since moving to the Burdekin in 2013. She has learnt piano and clarinet from early childhood and started vocal lessons at the age of 16.
Jessica has sung with numerous choirs over the years and also sings as a member of Attori. Phantom of the Opera is her 4th musical with Burdekin Singers after she played the role of Judy Garland in the 'Boy from Oz' and sung as part of the ensemble for 'Jesus Christ Superstar' and 'The Addams Family'. She is very excited for her role of Carlotta in the production of 'The Phantom of the Opera', she describes her character as "challenging and a dream role for a soprano!"
Signor Ubaldo Piangi - Ricky Romeo
